The nurse lowered her voice, while the family members now at peace, smiled and nodded knowingly.
As they turned to leave, another staff member approached looking concerned. “I overheard what you told them. But you weren’t there,” she observed. “Actually nobody was.”
The nurse nodded in agreement. “Many times they pass away alone. When someone is at bedside, however, they always share two things: I love you and please forgive me.”
